Weekly News Update- February 19 to February 25 2012

Yay! My first compiled news update is finally here! I included things that might have happened in the other week but nonetheless here’s the rundown:

CELEBRITY NEWS

  • Lee Jun Ki, who was recently discharge from the military, held his first official fan meeting titled “Reunion JG” at the Memorial Hall Arts Center in Sangmyung University.  (read more)
  • There are rumors circulating that he might do a drama with either Moon Geun Young or Moon Chae Won. Well so far what’s actually leaked for his post-military activities include a fan meeting in Japan and a new album to be released on March 16, 2012. “The album is titled Deucer, intended as a reference “deux”, the French word for the number 2.” (read more)
  • Go Soo (Will It Snow For Christmas?, Green Rose) gets married to his non-showbiz girlfriend. His fellow colleagues from BH Entertainment attended this private event closed to the media. The stars include: Lee Byung Hun, Jung Woo Sung, Jo Hyun Jae, Han Chae Young, PIE, Han Hyo Joo, Jang Hyuk, Kim Sun Ah, Ji Sung, Bae Soo Bin, and Jung Seok Won. (read more)
  • Speaking of fan meetings, Yoon Eun Hye just held one in Fukuoka, Japan!

DRAMA NEWS

  • Finally KBS’s Equator Man has a cast, whom Uhm Tae-woong (Dancing Queen), Lee Jun Hyuk (City Hunter), Lee Hyun-woo (God of Study), and Im Siwan (The Moon that Embraces the Sun). (read more)
  • Speaking of casting, Han Chae-ah joins the cast of Bridal Mask. She plays the role of  Chae Hong-ju, a strange combination triple-threat: singer, gambler, and spy. (read more)
  • After the drama has been put on hold since 2010, the fusion medical sageuk series Faith is setting an August broadcast with SBS. This is not the final date yet since negotiations are still ongoing. (read more)
  • Can Love Become Money, previously For the Emperor, starring Yeon Jung Hoon premieres on cable channel MBN beginning March 3.
  • Another show that got a name change is The King, which is now known by King 2 Hearts. They had their first script read already and some stills have been released as well.  (read more and more)
  • The Rooftop Prince similarly promoted the drama. I will post a separate entry for this soon.
  • Song Seung-heon (My Princess) will star in the new cable drama of Channel A, Time Slip Dr. Jin. This was based on a Japanese manga. Kim Jaejoong (Protect the Boss) will also be in this drama. (read more and more)
  • Channel A will have another drama called The Ultimate Audition. The premise is the idol world wherein Ko Eun-ah has to dress up like a man and pose as a male idol.
  • No episode of High Kick 3 for the whole week due to the MBC strike, which has affected the workload for their other shows from the lack of staff. (read more)
  • Due to high ratings, History of a Salaryman is having a 2-episode extension. It will now end on March 13, pushing the premiere of Fashion King to the following week. (read more)
