Shining Hearts: Shiawase no Pan First Impressions

I love the fantasy concept in this. Although since it’s based on a game, I’m not too excited since I’ve been burned by game adaptation animes already.

Summary: It begins with a sad voiceover. It later shifts to Airy, Neris and Amil waking up Rick to bake bread. They open the shop and were sold out. The good sales have been attributed to Rick’s bread, which literally gives happiness to people. The four of them went around town afterwards. In the forest, they find an injured slyph and return it to the elf area. They encounter a two sibling elves, named Rana and Alvin. At nightfall, Madera and the two elves were talking about an upcoming storm.

Thoughts: I’m starting to get Betrayal Knows Your Name vibes, which is not a good thing since that’s one of the worst animes I’ve actually watched. This episode is a hit and miss for me. It’s good because of the mystery forming along especially with that voiceover and storm metaphor. On the other hand, it’s bad because we basically just seen their daily routine. It’s a pretty boring way to introduce the characters.

Initial Rating: 6/10

  1. @observantzani the action and the intresting thing will begin only when the last character kaguya will apear so dont worry it wont be only about bread

    • thank goodness! i didn’t play the game so i have no idea what will happen. i forgot to mention in my impressions that the storm metaphor was a nice way to end it. there definitely was a foreshadowing of something darker to come. i’ll anticipate the next episode with a little more enthusiasm. ^^
