Weekly News Update- April 8, 2012 to April 14, 2012

If you were wondering why the dramas and sitcoms were pre-empted, it’s because of the elections in Korea. If you’re waiting for subs like me, the only show that really got affected was Rooftop Prince, which only had 1 episode for this week. Here’s the rest of the news:

CELEBRITY NEWS

  • Joon Ji-hyun (My Sassy Girl) finally got married yesterday, April 13th on 6 PM at The Shilla Seoul. (read more)

DRAMA NEWS

  • A Gentleman’s Dignity releases stills of Kim Ha Neul (read more) Also, completing the F4 is Lee Jong-hyuk (Crime Squad, Chuno). The other members announced before were Jang Dong-gun, Kim Suro and Kim Min-jong. (read more)
  • MBC’s Light and Shadow gets a 14 episode extension so it will end on June instead of originally planned mid-May. (read more)
  • Hwang Bora (Love Rain) is a quirky shaman sidekick in Arang (read more)
  • Queen In-hyun’s Man premieres next week (read more)
  • Love Actually Press Conference photos released! (read more)
  • Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince, Crucible), Lee Min Jung (Midas, WonderfulRadio) and missA’s Suzy (Dream High, Introduction to Architecturehave all confirmed to take part in the Hong Sister’s eighth drama, Big! (read more)
  • New SBS drama, Father’s War which will be replacing Fashion King on May 28. The plot is about:

Detective Baek Hong-Suk (Son Hyeon-Ju) lost his 15-year-old daughter in a car accident and his wife died from shock shortly afterwards. Detective Baek Hong-Suk then searches for the truth related to his daughter’s death and learns that her death is tied into a conspiracy.

Reporter Seo Ji-Soo (Wang Ji-Hye) is the owner’s daughter of a large corporation. She helps Detective Baek Hong-Suk to uncover the truth on his daughter’s death. While covering the story, she finds out that her brother-in-law (Kim Sang-Jung), a top presidential candidate, is involved in corruption. Reporter Seo Ji-So comes into conflict between her family and the truth.

  • Lee Jun Hyuk (City Hunter, Equator Man) will be part of the C-drama Fairytale, which premieres late June. He co-stars with Janine Cheng and Peer Zhu. (read more)

MOVIE NEWS

  • Park Han-byul (Yoga School, Oh My Lady) and Kim Ji-suk (Take Off) are teaming up for a horror-thriller movie Two Moons. Filming began April 10. This movie is aiming for a July premiere. The plot depicts two women and a man that find themselves in a isolated area without a way out. So-Hee (Park Han-Byul) is a horror story writer who holds a secret. Seok-Ho (Kim Ji-Seok) is a university student who suffers from an an unidentified trauma. He tries to uncover what that trauma is.
  • Sports film on table tennis entitled Korea or As One will come out on May. The main stars include Ha Ji Won (Secret Garden, King 2 Hearts) and Bae Doo Na (Gloria).
