Weekly News Update: May 6, 2012 to May 12, 2012

In contrast to the previous week, this is relatively quieter which is probably due to the numerous stills for upcoming dramas. I have a separate post of them that I’m compiling so you can watch out for that instead.

Jung Il Woo to Appear on Popular Chinese Talk Show

  • Jung Il Woo is set to appear on a popular Chinese variety talk show, “Tian Tian Xiang Shang” or “Day Day Up” on the Hunan Satellite TV channel due to his increasing popularity in China that can be attributed to the success of his dramas, Flower Boy Ramen Shop and The Moon that Embraces the Sun.
  • Kim Tae Hee signed a contract with LOTO Pharmaceutical Company in Japan to endorse their cosmetic products and was scheduled to hold a press conference. However, the press conference was cancelled due to a vigorous anti-Hallyu rally held in front of the LOTO headquarters. (read more)
“The Moon that Embraces the Sun’s” Im Siwan to MC “2012 Dream Concert”
  • After landing drama stints and a sitcom, ZE:A’Im Siwan will be the main MC for the upcoming “2012 Dream Concert” on May 12.

DRAMA NEWS

  • Vampire Prosecutor will back for a sequel in OCN after God’s Quiz 3 some time around August. They are trying to secure the original cast once more due to high ratings it received.
  • jTBC’s weekend saeguk Queen Dowager In-soo will be getting a 10-episode extension.
  • Lee Young-ae is being convinced to join the sequel of Dae Jang Geum or Jewel in the Palace. If she does agree, PD Lee Byung-hoon (Yi San, Dong Yi) will delay his retirement for Dae Jang Geum 2.
