DRAMA NEWS

  • Upcoming 2013 mystery drama will be based on the web toon Doctor Frost
  • Wang Ji Hye (Bachelor’s Vegetable Store) is set to star opposite Kim Dongwan in the upcoming KBS daily drama Cheer Up, Mister Kim.
  • The new jTBC weekend drama Childless Good Fortune, will be the next project by veteran writer Kim Soo-hyun (Thousand Day Promise). It is centered around the three generations of a family living in one house in the suburbs of Seoul. The cast includes Lee Soon-jae (The King 2 Hearts), Seo Woo-rimYoo Dong-geun (Athena), Kim Hae-sook (Thousand Day Promise), Eom Ji-won (Can Love Become Money), Song Seung-hwan, Im Ye-jinYoon Da-hoon,  Kyun Miri, Ha Suk-jin (Standby), Jung Joon (Thousand Day Promise), Kim Min-kyung (Padam Padam), and Baek Jong-min (My Daughter Flower).The drama premieres on October 13 and is set for 30 episodes.
  • SBS’s weekend series Delicious Life, originally slated for 50 episodes, is being chopped down by 10 hours and will now end on Episode 40.

MOVIE NEWS

  • Yoon Kye-sang (High Kick 3) will be starring in the comedy film Acting Lessons, which is a family human comedy, directed by the writer of the Cha Tae-hyun (racehorse movie Champ). He plays a no-name actor, because he’s an extra. Ha. But one day his father collapses and leaves behind a bunch of debt that he suddenly has to settle. So out of desperation, he takes a pretty strange acting job pretending to be the long-lost son of a chaebol family, who is developmentally disabled. Acting Lessons enters production this month, so likely an early 2013 premiere.
