Weekly News Update: February 17, 2013 to February 23, 2013


Park Shi Hoo (Cheongdamdong Alice) has been accused of sexual allegations. This is regarding a supposed rape of a trainee when they went out for a drink. He says that it was mutual consent. He’s been summoned to court to clear things up.


Lee Dong Wook (Wild Romance) gets back to acting with sageuk Heaven’s Order (or Fate of Heaven). He’s signed on as the male lead in his first sageuk as a Joseon royal physician who goes on the run after he gets falsely accused of participating in a plot to murder King Injong. While on the lam, he saves the life of a girl with an incurable disease and they get embroiled in a even greater conspiracy that potential will rock the nation. Song Ji Hyo (Gyebaek ) is in talks to join. Directing will be the PD-scriptwriter duo for Birth of the Rich. This premieres after IRIS 2.

Yoo Seung Ho will provide the narration for KBS’s upcoming documentary Homo Academicus, which is a story of four Harvard students that will be aired in March 2013. This will be the last project Yoo Seung Ho participates before he starts his mandatory military service of approximately two years. He’ll be donating the entire compensation to a charity.

Upcoming weekend drama I Summon You, Gold is switching its entire production team with ONE MONTH till airdate. But losing the production company lost them their star actor, Lee Jong-hyuk. GnG is the old production company and they lost the show to Yigim Productions.

All About My Romance casted Han Chae-ah (Oohlala Spouses, Gaksital) as the second lead. She will be playing a reporter and a law school hoobae to both Shin Ha-kyun and Park Hee-soon‘s characters, and they’re both in love with her. Park Hee-soon plays a prosecutor who becomes Lee Min-jung’s aide when she’s newly elected to her parliamentary post. All About My Romance follows That Winter, The Wind Blows and premieres in April on SBS.


Kang Dong-won (Psychic) and Shin Mina (Arang and the Magistrate) were going to pair up for a Kim Ji-woon short film, called Hide and Seek. Its an action thriller that’s basically going to serve as a showcase for a new theater technology called ScreenX that surrounds you on all sides. The thriller stars Kang Dong-won as X, a mysterious agent who has to transport a package, the contents of which he doesn’t know. Shin Mina plays the girlfriend to the secret-laden, secret-keeping X. Lee Som (Ghost, White Christmas) co-stars as his handler, named Fingers. Hide and Seek has started shooting, and will premiere this spring.
