Covertly, Grandly

Most anticipated movie of the year! Kim Soo Hyun is backkkkk with an awesome cast to boot. 

Spy movie Covertly, Grandly is an adaptation of a popular webtoon series on Daum by writer HUN. It’s about the three North Korean spies who gets sent to one small town where they’re told to immerse themselves in their cover lives and watch everything that goes on around them. But time passes, and more time passes, and there are no orders, no missions, and no instructions. They start to get used to life in the South as a normal everyday teenager, rocker, and village idiot. But then one day, an order finally comes down and they have their chance to fulfill their mission and return home. Directing is Jang Chul-soo (Bedevilled), and the movie is described as a heartwarming comedy. Covertly Grandly began filming in July 2012 and plans to premiere this June.


Kim Soo-hyun (The Moon That Embraces the Sun) He plays the lead, Won Ryu-hwan, a 24-year-old secret agent from the North who’s dispatched to South Korea with an airborne unit. Once he infiltrates a remote town, he assumes a new name and the cover of the village idiot. Fluent in five languages and an expert sniper to boot, Ryu-hwan gets to know the villagers and gathers intelligence on their political and military leanings, which he reports back to the North.

Park Ki-woong (Gaksital) He plays Lee Hae Jin, the son of one of the highest-ranking North Korean generals, and is stationed in the same town as a rocker idol wannabe.

 Lee Hyun-woo (To the Beautiful You) He plays Lee Hae Rang, who completes the trio as the youngest member in the history of this elite spy unit, whose cover is flower boy high schooler.

Sohn Hyun-joo (The Chaser) He plays Kim Tae Won, the group’s commanding officer/drill sergeant.
